Rachel Lynne Moulton, age 53, of Atwater, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 8, at her home in Atwater.

Memorial services with be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar (www.petersonbrothers.com). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Rachel was born January 26, 1961, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Vance and Mary (Brott) Eakins. She grew up and graduated from high school in Denver. On May 7, 1985, Rachel married Scott "Erik" Moulton in Las Vegas. They lived in Fairplay, Colorado before moving to Green Lake in Spicer. Rachel worked at Bethesda Homes and Rice Care Center and also as a cook for O'Neil's in Spicer. Rachel and Erik moved to Atwater in 2007. Rachel recently began working at Willmar Travel.

Rachel loved music, crafts and cooking. She was always happy and loved to make others laugh and smile. She often had a witty remark to share.

She is survived by her husband, Erik Moulton of Atwater; two children, Rilee Moulton (and fiance Sarah Thiede) of Morris, and Ingrid (and Michael) Gjerde of Sunburg; two stepsons, Douglas Moulton of Litchfield, and Scott Moulton (and fiance Jeanette Stevens) of Atwater; two grandchildren, Brooklyn Monson and Dakota Moulton; a brother, Tommy (and Paula) Desmond of California; two sisters, Jalva Eakins-Stewart of Colorado, and Terry (and Jerry) Walter of Utah; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gerald; and two sisters, Roberta and Ruth.
