Adeline Ellingson, 84, of Sunburg, died Wednesday morning, September 7, at her home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 10, at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg. Burial will be in the West Norway Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 9, at Peterson Brothers Sunburg Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Adeline was born March 2, 1927 in Kerkhoven Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Ovidia (Lansverk) Weflen. She grew up and attended country school in the rural Sunburg community and was baptized and confirmed at West Norway Lake Lutheran Church . She was united in marriage to Leslie Merlin Ellingson on June 3, 1949, at West Norway Lake Lutheran Church by Pastor Oliver Thompson. They made their home 3 miles north of Sunburg. She was a lifelong member of Hope Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Ladies Aid. Adeline loved baking, quilting, gardening, traveling, embroidery and housekeeping.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Leslie; two daughters, Lois (and Bruce) Hinnenkamp of Brooten and Connie (and Rick) Curtis of Crawford, CO; six grandchildren, Kendra (and Ben) Brutlag of Brooten, Dylan Hinnenkamp of Brooten, Caitlin Hinnenkamp of Brooten, Bill (and Sara) Hinnenkamp of Bothell, WA, Betsy Curtis of Crawford, CO, and Dusty Curtis of Crawford, CO; and two great-grandchildren, Macahila and Ava Hinnenkamp of Bothell, WA. Also surviving are a brother, Jerome (and Eunice) Weflen of Sunburg; a brother-in-law, Alden (and Jeanette) Ellingson of Paynesville; a sister-in-law, Alice Christison of Bothell, WA; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; and four brothers, Deloyen, Ernest, Orville and an infant brother.
