Agnes Hanson

Agnes Hanson, age 95, of Willmar, died Friday morning, June 12, at Rice Care Center in Willmar.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 15, at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Raymond. Funeral arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.

Agnes Grace Hanson was born June 4, 1920, in Day County, South Dakota, the daughter of Knute and Matilda (Peterson) Nelson. She was baptized and confirmed at Zoar Lutheran Church and attended country school in Day County. On June 13, 1943, she married Theodore Hanson. They lived in South Dakota before moving to Willmar in the early 1950s. In 1964, they moved to Forest Lake. Agnes worked as a nurses aide for over 20 years at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar, Birchwood Health Care in Forest Lake, and Trivilla Care in New Brighton until her retirement. In the early 1980s, Theodore and Agnes returned to Willmar. For the past several years, Agnes resided at Rice Care Center in Willmar.

She is survived by her children Terry (and Toni) Hanson of Prior Lake, Dawn Fischer of Forest Lake, Gary (and Deb) Hanson of New London, Roxann (and Jason) Fennewald of Appleton City, MO, and Tammy (and Bruce) Spieker of Raymond; thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four siblings, James (and Angie) Nelson, Donald (and Donna) Nelson, Lorraine Engelbretson, and Mea Brostad; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore in 1992; and three brothers, Reuben, Kenneth, and Oscar.
