WILLMAR, MN.
Agnes Lillian Solberg, age 91, of Willmar and formerly of Sunburg, died Wednesday afternoon, May 3, at Comforts of Home Assisted Living in Blaine. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 6, at Eagle Lake Lutheran Church with Rev. Ron Nichols officiating. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Friday, May 5, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Agnes was born on July 2, 1914, near Sunburg, Minnesota, the daughter of Carl and Theolina (Reigstad) Johnson. She grew up and received her education in the Sunburg community and was baptized and confirmed at West Lake Lutheran Church. In 1935, Agnes was married to John E. Solberg and they lived in the Willmar area where she worked as a waitress at Coffee John's. In 1942, they moved to Oregon and later returned to Willmar. She was a member of Eagle Lake Lutheran Church. Agnes enjoyed listening to music, flowers gardens and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Sherman of Blaine; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also surviving are four siblings, Arnold Johnson of Pennock, Julian (and Genie) Johnson of California, Lorraine Larson of Willmar and Curtis (and Bea) Johnson of Sunburg, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John in 1987, twin sons at birth; two brothers, Chester and LeRoy and two sisters, Eleanor and Marion.
