Alberto Hernandez, age 56, of Willmar, died Monday morning, Dec. 12, at the Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis following an extended illness.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Alberto Hernandez was born on January 16, 1955 in Crystal City, Texas, the son of Felix and Inez (Guillen) Hernandez. He grew up and received his education in Crystal City, Texas and later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For the last 15 years, Alberto has worked as a migrant worker and laborer in the Willmar area. For the last 2 years, he has resided at the Willmar Commons due to health reasons.
Alberto was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was also very appreciative of the care given to him by his sister and brother-in-law, Noelia and Guadelupe.
He is survived by his three children, Alberto Jr. of Crystal City, TX., Veronica Carr of Austin, TX., and Melissa Hernandez of Crystal City, TX.; one brother, Hipolito Hernandez of Milwaukee, WI., and three sisters, Victoria (and Roberto) Lopez of Milwaukee, WI., Noelia (and Guadelupe) Navarro of Willmar and Margarita Diaz of Willmar, MN, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Manuel Hernandez (his twin) and Armando Arias; and five sisters, Antonia Orozco, Irene Aceves, Juanita Hernandez, Alicia Ramirez and Dora Elia Ablies.
