Alice was born on June 12, 1935, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Alma (Gotfried) Peterson. She grew up in Rockford where she attended East High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Clarence Cutts in 1953. The couple lived on army bases (Ft. Louis in Washington and Monroe Center in Illinois) while Robert served during the Korean Conflict. They later resided in Stillman Valley, Illinois where they raised their family. Alice was an accomplished homemaker taking care of all of her family's needs. She later taught pre-school for many years. She and Robert took many trips and enjoyed family gatherings, especially on the Fourth of July, where Alice directed patriotic skits with her siblings. Following Robert’s passing in 1992, Alice moved to be closer to her family in the Willmar area and later resided in Atwater. There she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, attending their activities, and being an important part of their upbringing.

Alice enjoyed flower gardening, swimming at the YMCA, sewing, knitting, and attending musicals. She attended Atwater United Methodist Church where she attended Bible study and was a member of the Nine O’clockers social group. She continued to travel including trips and cruises to Ireland, Spain and many other countries.

Alice’s family remembers her upbeat spirit, always being on the go. Her love for her family will always be remembered.

Alice is survived by her son Robert Cutts of Stizer, WI, daughters: Elizabeth (and Dean) Nelson and Mary Cutts all of Atwater, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters.
