Alice H. Ferguson, age 86, of Willmar, died Friday afternoon, March 28th, at the Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at the Calvary Lutheran Church Chapel in Willmar with Rev. Timothy Larson officiating. Interment will be in the Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Memorials are preferred to the Bethesda Heritage Center.
Alice Harriet Ferguson was born April 29, 1921, in Willmar Township, the daughter of Arthur and Hulda (Carlson) Rasmussen. She grew up in the rural Willmar community and attended District 45 School and later Willmar High School, graduating in 1939. On November 9, 1940, she married Marvin Ellingboe. She worked as a cook at Lafayette Elementary School and later as a sales clerk at Thrifty White Drug. On May 28, 1971, she married Carlton Ferguson. She was a resident of Bethesda Heritage Center for the past two years. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. Alice enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially Saturday morning coffee and attending her grandchildren's events.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Ellingboe (and special friend, Jurrie Brandenburg) of Willmar and Steven (and Barb) Ellingboe of Kandiyohi; a stepson, Richard (and Gloria) Ferguson of Willmar; two stepdaughters, Diana Friehl of Willmar and Carol (and Paul) Aasen of New London; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Helen Johnson of Willmar; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by both husbands, Marvin Ellingboe in 1956 and Carlton Ferguson in 1993; a son, Tom Ellingboe; a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
