Alice M. Lisecki, age 88, of Willmar and formerly of Atwater, died Tuesday afternoon, November 4, at the Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 8, at the Church of St. Patrick in Kandiyohi with Fr. Brian Mandel officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Alice Mae Lisecki was born on October 14, 1920, in Harrison Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, the daughter of Gust and Georgia (Robbinson) Peterson. She grew up in the rural Atwater community and received her education in the country school next to their farm. On October 12, 1940, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kandiyohi, Alice was united in marriage to Francis E. Lisecki. They lived in Spicer, Atwater, Alexandria and Willmar where Alice worked various domestic jobs and as a waitress in restaurants. She was also a child care provider, a foster parent and a bookkeeper for her husband's machine shop business. Alice was a member of the Church of St. Patrick and was active in various womens groups.
Alice enjoyed crafts, crocheting, making afgans, needle work and flower gardens. She also enjoyed traveling, fishing and camping with her family. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler and active in womens bowling leagues.
She is survived by her husband, Francis "Frank" Lisecki of Willmar; two daughters, Lucille (and Ken) Baumgartner of Park Rapids and Mary (and Ken) Kopel of Maple Grove; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Donald (and Mickey) Peterson of Atwater and two sisters, Edna Kluver of Forada and Hazel Nielson of Atwater, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard S. Lisecki in 2001; one sister, Gladys Martinson and one brother, Clarence Peterson.
