Alice Hannah Linnea Lundgren, age 98, of Svea, passed away Friday evening, February 23, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, at the Blomkest Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 15, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Alice was born on February 10, 1926, at home during a snowstorm near Milaca, Minnesota. Her parents were Gust and Hannah (Johnson) Warolin who immigrated from Sweden. She attended country school, graduated from Milaca High School in 1944, and earned her AA degree from San Mateo Jr. College in California. After college she worked in Minneapolis. On April 19, 1952, Alice was united in marriage to Stanley Fred Lundgren and to this union, they were blessed with 5 children. They lived and farmed near Blomkest prior to moving to Stan's homeplace near Svea where they built a new home. Alice was employed for many years at the Blomkest Elevator as a bookkeeper. Alice was an active member of the Blomkest Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and served with the Baptist Conference Women's Group (BCW). She loved to garden, sew, entertain, and travel with Stanley to visit their daughters and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, DeLayne (and Howie) Hulst of Poulsbo, WA., Paul (and Deb) Lundgren of Svea, Barbro (and Jim) Turner of Bremerton, WA., Steve Lundgren of Svea and Bruce Lundgren of Svea; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley n 2008; a daughter-in-law, Kelly; her parents and four siblings, Helen, Edgar, Leonard and Elmer.
