Almut E. Yohe, age 95, of Willmar, formerly of Spicer, died Monday morning, August 22, at the Copperleaf Senior Living Care Suites in Willmar.
Private graveside services will be held at the Spicer City Cemetery. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer.
Almut was born January 6, 1921 in Sensburg, Germany, the daughter of Emil and Auguste (Koslowski) Wilinski. She grew up and received her education in Sensburg and later attended the University of Koeningsberg in Kaliningrad, Russia. She taught school in Germany until 1947, when she immigrated to the United States. She attended fashion school in New York and then went to work as a buyer for Nieman Marcus in Dallas. On August 19, 1966, she married Dr. Charles D. Yohe in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They lived in Hot Springs and Norfolk, Nebraska before moving to Spicer in 1988.
Almut is survived by her three stepsons, Bennett (and Pam) Yohe of Denver, CO, John (and Marsha) Yohe of Papillion, NE, and William Yohe of Wayne, NE; and three step-grandchildren, Terrance Goodrich Yohe, Matthew Yohe and Michael Yohe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Auguste Wilinski; her husband, Dr. Charles Yohe in 2002; a brother, Armin; and two sisters, Esther and Ursula.
