Ann B. Hoogheem, age 90, of Willmar, died Friday morning, July 16, at Bethesda Heritage Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 22, at the First Covenant Church in Willmar. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.
Ann Bertina Hoogheem was born on March 5, 1920, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Gunvald and Tillie (Michaelson) Akre. She grew up and received her education in the Willmar community. In September 1943, in San Antonio, Texas. Ann was united in marriage to Henry Hoogheem. They made their home in Willmar where she was employed at the Town Talk Bakery and for over 18 years at Juba's Bakery. Ann was a member of the First Covenant Church. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening, canning and visiting with her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, James (and Kathy) Hoogheem of Maple Grove; two grandchildren, Joel (and Karen) Hoogheem and Ryan Hoogheem (and special friend, Vicki Dalbec) and three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ian and Madison. Also surviving are three sisters, Mabel Nelson of Willmar, Gladys (and Oscar) Mattson of Willmar and Marie (and Elrue) Dunsmore of St. Cloud; and one sister-in-law, Doris Akre of Willmar, besides other realtives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry in 1991; one brother, Clarence and two sisters, Ruth and Helen.
