Anna Urban

Anna Urban, age 88, of Willmar, formerly of Raymond, died Wednesday morning, November 1, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, November 3, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Raymond. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 2, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Annie "Anna" Hilda Urban was born April 5, 1929 in Renville, Minnesota, the daughter of George and Amy (Ryks) Ruschen. She grew up and received her education in the Renville community. On April 20, 1951, she married Emil Urban and they made their home in the Raymond community. Anna worked for the Raymond Creamery, Willmar Poultry Company, and Jennie-O.

Anna was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Raymond, where she taught Sunday School and was active with Ladies Aid, and a current member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and going to casinos.

Anna is survived by two sons: Michael Urban (and Bernice Monson) of Atwater and Mark Urban of Murdock; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Grace (and Gene) Zeller of Clara City and Delores Schroeder of Raymond; a sister-in-law: Darla Ruschen of Renville; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Emil in 1993; her daughter: Mavis Urban in 2000; a sister: Hilda Denton; two brothers: John Ruschen and one in infancy; and two brothers-in-law: Vern Denton and Anthony Schroeder.
