Anne Kaliher, age 98, of Willmar, died Saturday evening, September 19th, at the Copperleaf Living Center in Willmar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 24th, at the Church of St. Mary with Fr. Steven Verhelst officiating. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 P.M. Wednesday at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and at the church one hour prior to the services. There will be a Parish Prayer Service Wednesday at 6:30 P.M. followed by a D of I Rosary at 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the Church of St. Mary's Foundation.
Anne Kaliher was born on March 5, 1911, in Royalton, Minnesota, the daughter of Bridget (Koroll) and Joseph Schreiber. She grew up in Little Falls and received her education and graduated from Little Falls High School in 1928. She worked the next 15 years in the Morrison County Recorder's Office. On August 3, 1943, she married Earl Larkin Kaliher and Anne spent the next 18 years raising her three sons. She later worked for the Marshall County Attorney in Warren, Minnesota. Earl and Anne moved to Willmar in 1967, where she worked for Attorneys Lundquist and Anderson for two years and then for the Kandiyohi County Recorders Office for ten years. After retirement, she and Earl spent many years wintering in Mission, Texas. Earl died on January 17, 1993. Anne married Roy Krueger on August 21, 2000. Roy died on January 14, 2008. She was a member of the Church of St. Mary, member of the Daughters of Isabella, the quilting group at St. Mary's, had been very active in many volunteer activities, and had received the Bishop's Medal of Service Award. She loved to play the piano and had been the organist in her parish church in Little Falls and Warren, Minnesota. Anne was also active with the Senior Citizens, had delivered Meals on Wheels with Earl and enjoyed playing golf with Earl.
She is survived by three sons: Donald Kaliher (and fiance Kevina Maher) of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Paul (and Joan Geyer) Kaliher of Naperville, Illinois, and Roy (and Darlene) Kaliher of Bisbee, Arizona. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Gwynn Kaliher, Katelyn Kaliher, Kevin (and Jung) Kaliher, Kristi (and Rick) Oleson, Keenan Kaliher and Brian Kaliher and four great-grandchildren: Nari Kaliher, Andrea Oleson, Brandi Oleson and Rick Jr. Oleson.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; four brothers: Jack, Anthony, Albert and Dominic Schreiber and their wives.
