Arden Jon Onberg, age 69, of New London, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, October 26, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 29, at the Spicer City Cemetery. There is no reviewal or visitation. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Arden was born on July 20, 1941, in Granite Falls, Minnesota, the son of Axel and Eleanora (Mortensbak) Onberg. He grew up in Hanley Falls and graduated from Hanley Falls High School in 1959. Arden returned to work on the family farm and had various other jobs. Most recently he was employed at the Little Crow Country Club as a greenskeeper. Arden enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by three brothers, Glenn (and Hazel) Onberg of Rosemount and twin brothers, Arlan and Alan Onberg, both of New London; four sisters, Ilene Benesh of Rosemount, Diane Lane of Willmar and twin sisters, Lynnette (and Steve) Ruter of Forrest Lake and Lenore Clark of Choctaw, OK. Also surviving are Arden's extended family, Darrin (and Carrie) Ogdahl of Spicer, Jason (and Michelle) Ogdahl of New London, Michele Revermann of Hawick and Greta (and Matt) Hass of Melrose and their children and grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; special friend, Marcia Ogdahl in April of 2009, and two sisters, Judy and Jean.
