Arline Irene Woltjer, age 85, of Sunburg and formerly of Willmar, died unexpectedly Monday morning, Sept. 1, at the Miriam Manor in Sunburg.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at the Eagle Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday. www.petersonbrothers.com
Arline Irene Woltjer was born on January 19, 1929 in Truman, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Mayme (Wetenkamp) Rosenau. She grew up in Truman and at the age of 14, the family moved to rural Willmar. She received her education from schools in Truman and Willmar. On January 2, 1950, Arline was united in marriage to Elzo H. Woltjer and they made their home in the Willmar community. To this marriage were born five children, Dennis, Douglas, Steven, Mark and Linda who died in 1955 at the age of 13 months. After the children were in school, Arline worked at Molenaar Inc. and provided many years of babysitting. Her hobbies included fishing, quilting, baking, cooking, crossword puzzles and Sudoku.
She is survived by four sons, Dennis (and Nola) Woltjer, Douglas (and Lynn) Woltjer, Steven (and Barb) Woltjer and Mark (and Chris) Woltjer, all of Willmar; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Also surviving is one sister, Leona Kruger of Freeport and her twin brother, Arthur (and LaVonne) Rosenau of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elzo in 2005; one daughter, Linda and one brother, Arnold Rosenau.
