Audrey Fluck

Audrey E. Fluck, age 93, of Willmar, died Thursday afternoon, March 17, at Glen Oaks Care Center in New London.
Her funeral will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 22, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday, March 21, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.  Interment will be in Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield, MN.    Memorials are preferred, in lieu of flowers, to Rice Hospice in Willmar, MN or the COPD Foundation.
Audrey Edwina Fluck was born to John August and Marie Louise (Anderson) Johnson on July 11, 1922, on the family farm in rural Hector, MN. She was baptized in September, 1922, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1936, at Swedlunda Lutheran Church, Hector. In her early religious life, she taught Sunday School and sang in the Church Choir.  She graduated from Hector High School in 1940, and continued her education at Balzer Business College where she completed the accounting program in 1942. She was married to LeRoy (Jim) Fluck on June 23, 1945, at the Swedlunda Lutheran Church, Hector.  To this union four children were born; Beverly, Steven, Shirley and Brad.  Throughout her life, Audrey worked in accounting for a number of different companies, including her first accounting job at Investor's Syndicate in Minneapolis. She also excelled at, and was greatly appreciated at her time spent as head cook at the Litchfield Public Schools, in the 1960s.  Audrey & Jim enjoyed 65 years of marriage, during which they enjoyed family celebrations, Holiday gatherings, camping, bowling, playing cards, dancing and travelling with family and friends. They lived in Minneapolis, Litchfield, Superior, WI, Sioux Falls, SD, Mound, Atwater and Willmar.  During their years in Atwater, they were very involved in the local Lutheran Brotherhood (Thrivent) Chapter, volunteering in many capacities. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, gardening, bird watching, shopping, playing cards, ladies Bible studies and a loving hostess with treats, coffee, fellowship, hugs and dishes of candy.  She lived independently, most recently at Westview Patio Homes in Willmar, MN, until entering Glen Oaks Care Center in February 2016, where she passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 17.
Audrey is survived by her children, Beverly (Henry) Abbett of Spicer, MN,  Steven (Linda) Fluck of Carlton, MN, Shirley (Tony) Farley of Ham Lake, MN, Brad (Melinda) Fluck, of Kimball, MN; two brothers, Andy (Pat) Johnson of Rogers, MN, and Harlin (Diane) Johnson of Stewart, MN; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruth Draxten of Litchfield and Doris Johnson of Hector. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren in addition to many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in December, 2010, her parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 grandsons, 4 sisters-in law, 3 brothers-in-law and one son-in-law.
