Barbara Ann Lorinser, age 81, of Willmar, died Wednesday morning, September 8, at Rice Care Center in Willmar following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 12, at Evangelical Free Church in Willmar. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Evangelical Free Church or Rice Hospice.
Barbara was born on January 11, 1928, in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Frank and Ruth (Eriksson) Horlock. After the death of her mother in 1937, she and the rest of her siblings were separated and adopted. Barbara was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Clara and Steve Caine of Willmar. She graduated from Willmar High School in 1946. On October 21, 1950, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Barbara was united in marriage to Robert J. Lorinser. Barbara worked for 2 years for Dr. Tyler in Raymond and for 23 years at the Willmar State Hospital as a LPN. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Willmar as well as a member of the Willmar V.F.W. Auxiliary, A.A.R.P. and the Retired State Employees Union. Barbara enjoyed crocheting, crafts, coffee time with her family and friends and was proud to be a "Chix of 46".
She is survived by her five children, Patricia (and Randall) Haats of Willmar, David (and Theresa) Lorinser of Fort Worth, TX., Dr. Robert (and Margaret) Lorinser of Marquette, MI., Daniel (and Michelle) Lorinser of Chaska and Donald Lorinser (and special friend, Cathleen McClanahan) of Saginaw, TX; ten grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister; an adoptive brother, Joe Caine of Sarasota, FL.; one sister-in-law, Linda Caffey of Vestavia Hills, AL., besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Lorinser in 1994; two brothers and two sisters.
