She was born in Willmar, MN to Fred and Betty Olstad on August 14, 1950. Barb graduated from Atwater High School in 1968 and attended Willmar Community College. She was united in marriage to Jon Norine on December 12, 1970. Barb attended and was active in serving at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atwater for many years. She and her family lived in the Atwater area until moving to Two Harbors, MN in June of 2016.
She always enjoyed living in the country where she raised quarterhorses, German Shepherds, and toy poodles for many years. Throughout her life, Barb had a passion for horses. In high school, Barb participated in the Minnesota State High School Rodeo. Later in life, one of her favorite pastimes was going on trail rides with her family and friends.
She loved traveling and going on cruises. Hawaii was her favorite destination. Through her work as a Princess House sales consultant, she earned several cruises and trips. Barb also enjoyed boating, crafting and baking. Anyone who visited the Norine residence at Christmas knew that Barb’s decorations and cookies were second to none. Barb was a proud supporter of her children and grandchildren; never missing an event.
Over the last few years Barb had health complications that slowed her down a lot, but she never complained. She had a very strong faith, and believed in leaving things in “God’s hands”, which is where she is now.
She is survived by her husband: Jon; her mother: Betty Linden; her son: Dr. Joshua Norine; her daughter: Nicole (Bill) DeArmond; and her grandchildren: Brayden and Danielle DeArmond.
She was preceded in death by her father: Fred Olstad; and daughter-in-law: Jennifer Witte Norine.
