Becky A. Grussing, age 45, of Willmar, died Friday evening, April 27, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at First Baptist Church in Willmar with Rev. Phil Lutz officiating. Interment will be in the Benson City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Becky Ann Grussing was born March 7, 1962, in Benson, the daughter of Andy and Sylvia (Bentley) Grussing. She grew up and received her education in Benson, graduating from Benson High School in 1980. She attended Bemidji State University and later Ridgewater College in Willmar, earning a degree as an Administrative Assistant. She worked for the Willmar Public Schools.
Becky was a member of First Baptist Church in Willmar. She was active as a Sunday school teacher and with the women's organizations. She also went on several church mission trips, including trips to the Ukraine and Mexico.
Becky enjoyed working with children, reading, baking, cooking and crafts. She also enjoyed her cats, whom she considered "her children."
She is survived by three brothers, Dennis (and Glenda) Grussing of Raymond, Robert (and Debra) Grussing of Benson and Larry (and Bonnie) Grussing of Hendricks; two sisters, Sharon (and Dale) Hale of Bismark, North Dakota and Susan (and Stan) Wendt of Clearwater, Florida; twelve nieces and nephews; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; two aunts, Jessie Anderson of Benson and Lillian Grussing of Benson; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Grussing; two sisters, Judith Grussing and Annette Martinez; and several aunts and uncles.
