Berdelle M. Ingeman, age 66, of Atwater, died Friday morning, Jan. 3, at Rice Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, at the Church of St. Patrick in Kandiyohi. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Atwater. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5, at the Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Rice Hospice or the Atwater Block Nursing Program are preferred.
Berdelle Marie Ingeman was born on March 31, 1947, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Ronald and Harriet (Olson) Tait. She grew up in the Atwater community, graduated from Atwater High School in 1965 and from St. Mary's Junior College in 1967 with a degree in Nursing. Berdelle was employed as a Registered Nurse from 1967-1970 at the University Hospital in Minneapolis. In 1970, she began employment at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Berdelle worked in Adult Health, Emergency Room and the Education Department at Rice, retiring in 2010. She was a member of the Church of St. Patrick and was active in CCW. Berdelle was a volunteer with Rice Hospice for over 17 years, a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and the Parish Nurse Ministry. She was instrumental in founding many support groups throughout Kandiyohi County.
Berdelle loved people and spent her life helping and educating others. She never judged but rather found the good in everyone. Berdelle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Blessed be her memory!
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie of Atwater; two sons, John (and Paula) Ingeman of Glencoe and Tom Ingeman of St. Cloud; and four grandchildren, Tyler Steffel, Eric Steffel, John Ingeman Jr. and Allen Ingeman. Also surviving are five siblings, Audrey (and Dennis) Dailey of Sartell, Jerome (and Cathy) Tait of St. Paul, Margaret Garvick of St. Cloud, Luverne Tait of Apple Valley and Stephen (and Mona) Tait of Spicer; besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bernice Rubis and Kathi Fields; and one brother, James Tait.
