Bernice E. Lawler, age 84, of Willmar, died Tuesday, September 29, at Willmar Commons Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. parish prayer service at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Bernice was born April 15, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Otto and Hildegard (Brick) Lorinser. She grew up and received her education in Willmar, graduating from Willmar High School in 1943. On July 14, 1948, she married Jerome Lawler at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kandiyohi. She lived her entire life in Willmar and worked as a wonderful homemaker. She was a faithful member of the Church of St. Mary. She enjoyed her family and loved to take care of them by cooking and cleaning. She loved the time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Patrick Lawler of Pennock, Linda (and Dwayne) Larson of Fifty Lakes, Jackie (and Dr. Brad) Isaacson of Plymouth, Thomas Lawler of Lake Nabagamon, Wisconsin, Rick (and Terry) Lawler of Litchfield, Jeff (and Valerie) Lawler of Lake Lillian and Bobbi (and Dan) Elkjer of Willmar; a son-in-law: Rory Weiss of Willmar; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother: Richard Lorinser of Eagan; two sisters: Mary (and Reul) Nygaard of Plymouth and Ruth Bjornberg of North Mankato; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Jerome in 1997; a son: Douglas Lawler in 2003; a daughter: Mary Weiss in 2003; three brothers: Robert Lorinser, David Lorinser and Charles Lorinser; and two sisters: Delores Glader and Marjorie Berg.
