Bernice M. Osterman, age 92, of Willmar, died Sunday morning, May 28, at Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home in Willmar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 noon, Thursday, June 1, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in St. Paul with Fr. Stephen Adrian officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Henderson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Bernice Mary Osterman was born August 28, 1913, in Henderson, the daughter of Joseph and Louise (Chevalier) Gondreau. She grew up in Henderson until age 12, when she moved with her parents to St. Paul. She worked in the catalog department of Montgomery Ward in St. Paul. On August 24, 1940, she married Bernell B. Osterman at St. Michael's Catholic Church in West St. Paul. Bernice later taught school in St. Paul and also sold Amway products. She lived in St. Paul until moving to Willmar in 2001.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Osterman of Minneapolis; a daughter, Linda (and Rick) Hess of Willmar; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernell in 2003 and five brothers, Ray, Elmer, Louey, Nels and Mark.
