Beverley J. Chambers, in her words, “went to meet Jesus” on Sunday morning, September 15, 2019.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery in Shabbona, Illinois.  Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  (www.petersonbrothers.com)

Beverley was born on December 19, 1932 in Shabbona, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Marie (Jacobson) Hardy.  At the age of 12, she moved with her parents to Longville, Minnesota, where she grew up and received her education.  On June 10, 1950, Beverley was united in marriage to Merwin W. Chambers.  They made their home in Bemidji, Maryland, and Cass Lake before moving to Willmar in 1957.  Beverley considered her primary responsibility raising her five children; she also worked for a time in the kitchen at Bethesda Heritage Center and ran a daycare out of her home.  Beverley was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church for many years but later in life converted to Catholicism and attended the Church of St. Mary.  She was an avid seamstress and knitter who also enjoyed quilting, canning and cooking.  Her children remember fondly her caramel rolls and wish they had the recipe.  They also loved her Christmas treats.  One of the highlights of her life in recent years, an item long on her bucket list, was a hot-air balloon ride while attending a reunion of relatives in Illinois.

Beverley is survived by her three sons, Merwin (Corliss) Chambers of Lawrenceville, GA, Rick (Marcia) Chambers of Willmar, and Steve (Barb) Chambers of Xenia, OH; and daughter-in-law Frances Morton of Winlock, WA; 10 grandchildren: Jessica Devereaux, Eric (Erin) Chambers, Erin Chambers, Dena (Jason) Wolff, Sara (Andy) Adducchio, Ryan Chambers, Adam (Erika) Chambers, Corey (Kerry) Sinz, Logan (Kennedy) Kane, and Andrew Hall; 13 great-grandchildren:  Avery Devereaux; Kiera, Stella, and Teagan Wolff; Carmela, Giuliana, Adelaide, Isabella, Luciana, and Marco Adducchio; and Kate, Caroline, and  Maggie Chambers; besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merwin in 1998; and two daughters, Pauline and Sheila.
