Bonniemary L. Fladeboe, age 79, of Spicer, died Friday morning, April 24, at her home following an extended illness.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be in Cloverleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born June 13, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Edwin W. and Justine (Cooper) Harder. She graduated from Minneapolis Washburn High School in 1947 and the Minnesota School of Business in 1948. Following school, she moved to Willmar, Minnesota, with her best friend, Dell, to work at the Willmar State Hospital. In Willmar, she met Charles Fladeboe and they were married on October 29, 1950, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Charles' National Guard unit was called up shortly after their marriage so they moved to Alexandria, Virginia, and then Enterprise, Alabama. Upon discharge, they returned to Willmar, where they raised their family and then built a home on Lake Henderson in 1989. Besides being a homemaker, Bonnie and Chuck owned and operated the Little Store in Willmar from 1961 to 1972. Later, she worked at Presbyterian Family Foundation, retiring in 1999.
Family was very important to Bonnie and she loved spending time with them and enjoyed following the activities of her children and grandchildren. She also had a lot of treasured friends and especially loved the game of bridge, belonging to several clubs. She enjoyed her coffee group at Cashwise and also was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a faithful member of Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar.
She is survived by her children: Jann (and Larry) Anderson of Watertown, Steve (and Sheryl) Fladeboe of Spicer, Stacy (and Judy) Fladeboe of Spicer, Kevin (and Lois) Fladeboe of Willmar, and Craig Fladeboe( and Liz Johnson) of Willmar; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her stepmother, Leora Harder of Plymouth; two sisters, Margie Harder of Plymouth and Gretchen (and Kevin) Ahlquist of Mahtomedi; many nieces & nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2000; a brother: B. Barry Harder; a brother-in-law: James Fladeboe; and two sisters-in-law: Sara Harder and Marilou Fladeboe.
