Byrma Tallakson

Byrma M. Tallakson, age 90, of Willmar, died Monday evening, September 19, at the Clara City Care Center in Clara City.

A service to celebrate Byrma's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. www.petersonbrothers.com

Byrma Maxine Tallakson was born on December 19, 1925, on the family farm near Lake Lillian, Minnesota, the daughter of George and Henrietta Johnson. She grew up in the Lake Lillian community and received her education from country schools. On October 26, 1946, Bryma was married to Irwin Walter Tallakson and they lived and farmed just East of Willmar. Byrma was a longtime active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Willmar. She and Irwin enjoyed traveling and camping together in their R/V throughout the entire lower 48 states. They were also member of a square dancing club and a local snowmobile club. She worked hard as a homemaker. Her hobbies included baking, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Irwin; three children, Wendy (and Richard) Olson of Willmar, Gerald Tallakson of Spicer and Bradley Tallakson of Willmar; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Also surviving is her twin brother, Burton Johnson of Bay of the Islands, New Zealand and former daughter-in-law, Pat (and Marlow) Erdman of Midlothian, TX., besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gary in 1969; three sisters, Evelyn, Tootie and Tootsie; and seven brothers, Harold, Alfred, George Jr., Arvin, Marvin, Vernon and Lavern.
