Carol was born Feb. 28, 1937 in Minneapolis to Daniel and Louise (Jasperson) Willford. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and later attended St. Cloud State University before marrying her high school sweetheart in Minneapolis on February 14, 1959.
She loved to travel, especially with family. Sanibel Island was a favorite destination. She enjoyed reading, acquiring a large library of hard cover books and later over 6,000 books on her Kindle. She loved to shop, especially for purses and shoes. She was known for her delicious pumpkin and pecan pies. She loved to eat out at any new restaurant she could find. She enjoyed the music of Neil Diamond and IL Divo, attending multiple concerts of both in the last several years.
She was an avid Vikings fan and enjoyed watching college as well as professional football games. She also enjoyed watching golf. She was part of a special group of high school friends coined “the card club” who still gather on a regular basis. She has special friends near and far whom she worked hard to stay in touch with. She enjoyed playing bridge and having lunch with her Green Lake friends in the summer months.
Most of all, she loved her family. Her love was unconditional, generosity was immense and spunky personality kept everyone on their toes. Her children feel they won the parent lottery and will miss her deeply. She welcomed her son in law and daughter in law into her heart and the joy her grandchildren brought her was immeasurable.
She is survived by her son Gregory (Andrea Klein) Midtbo, daughter Deanne (Chad) Raitz, grandchildren Maxine (Paul Hochwalt) Midtbo, Will Midtbo, Luke Raitz, Noah Raitz and Janelle (Chris) Rieland. She is also survived by cherished extended family including Tom & Jan Midtbo, Bev & Doug Hansen, Ginger & Mark Shafer and family, Steve & Jan Hansen, Gary & Karen Hansen and family, Andy & Janet Midtbo and family, Erika & Ryan Skanse and family, Lyssa Klein, Ariel and Darcey Gans.
