Carole Yanacheak

Carole Irene Yanacheak, age 87, of Willmar, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, July 13, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, July 16, at the Church of St. Mary. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.

Carole Irene Yanacheak was born on March 26, 1923, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Clarence and Mildred (Leedahl) Larson. She grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1942. On June 15, 1952, in Willmar, Carole was married to Peter P. Yanacheak. They lived in Sioux City, Iowa and Sioux Falls, South Dakota before moving to Willmar in 1955. She was employed at the Willmar Regional Treatment Center as a LPN, retiring in 1984. Carole was member of the Church of St. Mary, a long time member of the VFW Auxiliary, where she served as president from 1975 to 1976, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Fraternal Order of Eagle's and the Does. She enjoyed playing bingo, card games, ceramics and golfing.

She is survived by two children, Michael Yanacheak of Willmar and Katherine Hunter of Los Angeles, CA.; one son-in-law, Dale Olsen of St. Peter.; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Richard (and Linda) Larson of Mesa, AZ. and one sister, Betty (and Zeke) Lavespere of Boosier City, LA., besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter in 1969; one daughter, Sue Ann in 2001; one brother, Duane Larson and one sister, Maxine Fuhler.
