Carroll L. Spieker, age 85, of Willmar and formerly of Raymond, passed away Tuesday, May 19, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home.
A Celebration of Life social will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Raymond. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Carroll Laurel Spieker was born on November 19, 1934, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Frank and Freida (Martins) Spieker. He grew up on the family farm in Edwards Township and received his education in the Raymond schools. Carroll was employed at Duininck’s Inc., and Willmar Poultry Company for over 46 years. He was a life member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he served as an usher, the Raymond Lions Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagle’s. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, farming, gardening, traveling, camping at Dilley’s Resort on Norway Lake and visiting with family and friends. In 2017, Carroll moved to Bethesda in Willmar where he enjoyed the activities of bowling and playing bingo.
He is survived by one brother, Vernon Spieker of Willmar and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Orville; three sisters, Arlene, VeraMae and Inez in infancy.
