Charles Iverson

Dr. Paul C. Iverson, 67, of Spicer, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, September 9, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, September 13, at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Military honors will be provided by the New London American Legion Post. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer.

Dr. Paul Charles Iverson was born on October 27, 1942, in Fargo, North Dakota, the son of Norval "Ivy" and Gertrude (Almos) Iverson. He grew up in Minneapolis, graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1960, Gustavus Adolphus College in 1964 and the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1968. Paul then completed his internship at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. While in Duluth, Paul met and married Carol Jean Ambrozich. He served as Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, station in Key West, Florida at the Boca Chica Naval Air Station. Following his military service, they moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota and was in family practice for 2 years and then entered Orthopedic Surgery residency at the U of M. Dr. Paul practiced in Hibbing for 10 years and for 2 years in Anoka with Anoka Orthopedics. In 1988, they moved to Spicer to practice at ACMC. He retired in 2007.

Dr. Paul was a Board Certified member of American Academy Orthopedic Surgeons, a member of the American College of Surgeons, Minnesota Medical Society, the U of M Alumni Association, Peace Lutheran Church, Lake Region Chapter Harley Owners Group where he served on the board and as road captain for numerous rides.

Dr. Paul enjoyed riding his Harley, tending to his trees, playing with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing and was an avid sports fan. Paul was always up to date on the latest current events and relished discussing politics and history.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Jean; three children, Dr. John (and Andrea) Iverson, Lisa (and Paul) Bolle and Julie (and Jake) Pulsifer, all of Spicer; and five grandchildren, Abby and Ivy Bolle, McKenzie and Madeline Iverson and Van Pulsifer. Also surviving is his brother, Dr. Bruce (and Sally Ann) Iverson of Littleton, Colorado, besides other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
