Clarence “Cal” W. Klucas, age 94, of Willmar, passed away Monday, July 18, at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, at the Church of St. Mary. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Clarence “Cal” William Klucas was born on March 7, 1928, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Elmer and Anna (Keeler) Klucas. He grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1947. From 1952-1954, Clarence served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On October 19, 1959, Clarence was united in marriage to Violet “Vi” V. Beckler and they made their home in Willmar. Clarence was employed for over 43 years with the Great Northern Railroad as a clerk, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Church of St. Mary and the Willmar V.F.W. Post #1639. Clarence enjoyed antiques, rummage sales and traveling tours.
He is survived by his wife, Violet of Willmar; one sister-in-law, Martha Klucas of Mission Viejo, CA., and one brother-in-law, Cornelius “Con” Sullivan of Coon Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David in 2020; two sisters, Colleen and Mary and one brother, Richard.
