Clarice A. Lindgren, age 82, of Willmar, died Saturday morning, May 18, at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
A memorial service will be 11 A.M. Thursday, May 23, at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. The interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M., Wednesday, May 22, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the services at the church. www.petersonbrothers.com
Clarice Adeline Lindgren was born at home near New London, Minnesota, on March 11, 1931, the daughter of Albert and Ida (Otteson) Nelson. She grew up in the that area and received her education, graduating from Belgrade High School. On June 10, 1949, she married Warren D. Lindgren at Crow River Church near Belgrade, where she was baptized and confirmed. They made their home in Minneapolis while Warren attended school and in 1951 they moved to the Atwater area. In about 1960, they moved into Willmar and Clarice worked in food service for the Willmar school system. Clarice retired after working for the schools for 35 years. She was a caring person who would always put others in front of herself. She loved being with family and friends and enjoyed square dancing, traveling, playing cards, knitting, crocheting and her flower gardens.
She is survived by her husband, Warren Lindgren of Willmar; one son, Steven (and Barbara) Lindgren of Willmar; and two daughters, Judith Lambertson of Willmar and Shari (and Orvin) Hastad of Merrifield. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Machelle Willscher, Angela Swenson, Jesse Lindgren, Shannon Knutson, Ryan Lindgren, Jason Lindgren, Alysa Bergstrom, Jacob Lindgren, Halee Hastad and Christian Hastad; 15 great grandchildren; three brothers, Richard (and JoAnn) Nelson of Belgrade, David (and Judy) Nelson of Milaca and Wayne (and Karen) Nelson of Sartell; and three sisters, Ruby (and Evan) Christensen of St. Paul, Janet (Marlyn) Engen of Brooten and Delores (and Phillip) Gandrud of Sacred Heart.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Lindgren; and one brother, Henry Nelson.
