Dane A. McClenahan, age 19, of Kerkhoven, died Sunday, October 31, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Clara City.
A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, November 5, at Assembly of God Church in Willmar. A time of gathering and sharing will be held from 4-7 P.M. Thursday at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the services.
Dane Alexander McClenahan was born January 22, 1991 in Montevideo, Minnesota. They lived in Granite Falls for a time and the family moved to Willmar in 1995. He grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 2009. He continued his education at Ridgewater College. On September 4, 2010 he was married to Karissa Lynne Hyatt in Wood Lake and they made their home in Kerkhoven. Dane was a Sales Associate at the Willmar Walmart in the Deli Department. He had worked there the last three years. Family was the most important thing to Dane and he loved to make people laugh and smile. He would do anything funny or goofy just to make your day. Dane also enjoyed music, his co-workers, DC and Marvel Comic Books and having fun.
He is survived by his wife, Karissa and his son, Coltyn of Kerkhoven; mother, Denise Hodge of Willmar; father, Jon (and Jen) McClenahan of Willmar; three brothers, Eric (and Kim) McClenahan of Sacramento, California, Brian (and Tina) McClenahan of Woodland, California and Elijah McClenahan of Willmar; and two sisters, Summer Kirschbaum of Willmar and Georgia McClenahan of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
