Daniel R. Meyer, age 54, of Spicer, died Sunday afternoon, January 9, at his home on George Lake.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 13, at Calvary Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, January 12, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Daniel Robert Meyer was born on May 1, 1956, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Eppo "Bud" and Delores (DeVries) Meyer. He grew up in Willmar, was dedicated at the Assembly of God Church and graduated from Willmar High School in 1974. On November 19, 1977, Daniel was united in marriage to Annette D. Fragodt. They lived in Willmar for many years and recently moved to George Lake. Daniel was employed for over 36 years at the Willmar Regional Treatment Center as a maintenance supervisor, retiring in July of 2010. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Sertoma Club and 27 year volunteer of the Willmar Fire Department. Daniel enjoyed hunting, golfing, cooking and outdoor grilling. He was an avid Minnesota sports fan and cherished time spent with family and friends at the lake.
He is survived by his two children, Joseph (and Traci) Meyer of New Richmond, WI. and Lacy Meyer of Willmar; seven grandchildren; his mother, Delores of Willmar and two siblings, Cindy (and Garry) Kramer of Denver, CO. and Mark (and Jane) Meyer of Memphis, TN., besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bud in 1989 and his wife, Annette in 2009.
