Darrol D. Reinke, age 67, of Benson, died Monday evening, July 26, at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 30 at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Thursday, July 29, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Darrol Dean Reinke "Dean" was born January 15, 1943, in New Ulm, MN, to Arnold and Nina (Schmidt) Reinke. He lived in Vernon Center and moved to Alberta in the 6th grade and graduated from Alberta High School. He worked as a hired man for a local farmer near Alberta. He then went on to be an over the road truck driver, which he did work for Raymond Cossette Trucking for many of his adult years until his was unable to truck anymore due to his recurrent illnesses. In 1964, Dean was united into marriage and out of that union; he was blessed with 5 children. Dean raised his family in the Benson/Clontarf area.
Many of things Dean enjoyed were truck driving, hunting, fishing, creating new things and spending time with his family and especially his grandkids. He was an animal lover and adored spending time with the family pets. Dean also enjoyed giving kids rides in his semi. One of his greatest career accomplishments was earning the title of Driver of the Month in 1995 with Raymond Cossette Trucking
He is survived by four sons, Doug (and Kristy) Reinke of Becker, David Reinke of West Fargo, Dennis (and Stephanie) Reinke of DeGraff and Kyle (and Sheila) Reinke of Danvers; one daughter, Pam (and James) Payne of Benson; thirteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Also surviving is one brother, Sonny (and Margie) Reinke of St. James and one sister, Paulette (and Peter) Hagen of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Mikel and an uncle Orville Schmidt.
