Deborah "Debbie" L. Petersen (Zinda), age 52, of Willmar, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Raymond with a luncheon following the graveside service. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service. Deborah “Debbie” L. Petersen (Zinda) was born on October 10, 1969, in San Antonio, Texas, to David Zinda and Delphine Zinda. Debbie lived in San Antonio, Texas until moving to Willmar in 1981 and graduated from Willmar Senior High School in 1988.
On September 11, 2004, Debbie was united in marriage to Dwight C. Petersen at the Evangelical Free Church in Willmar. With the union of this marriage, they were blessed with one daughter, Olivia.
Debbie worked for Burger King while in high school. After school she was employed at Lutheran Social Services, REM and Kandi Works DAC as direct care staff. She currently was the office manager of Petersen’s Mobile Detailing, Petersen Mobile Transport and Petersen Farm.
Debbie enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, watching birds, raising sheep, exhibiting at the fair and trucking with Dwight and Olivia. She loved attending county fairs, state fairs and traveling. Debbie and Olivia also had a lot of fun going to garage sales to find treasures. She was a member of Refuge church in Willmar.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Dwight and daughter, Olivia (12) of Willmar, her father, David Zinda; brothers, Gary and Timothy Zinda; nieces, Kaitlyn and Kassidy Zinda, all of San Antonio, TX. Also surviving is her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Calvin and Maydean Petersen of Willmar, brother and sisters-in-law, Mark (Amanda) Petersen of Willmar, VaLoris (Tony) Anderson of Atwater and their children, Mackenzie, Elizabeth, Haley, Johanna, Laura, Heidi and Peter.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Delphine Zinda.
