Debra Kay Evans, 54, of Willmar, died Tuesday morning, March 20, at Bethesda Heritage Center Nursing Home in Willmar following a battle with breast cancer.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, at the Evangelical Free Church in Willmar. Burial will be in Calvary Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Debra was born July 22, 1957, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Magnus and Gladys (Tolberson) Solbrack. She grew up and received her education in Willmar, graduating from Willmar High School in 1975. She then attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Following her graduation, she began her career as a dietician in St. Paul. In 1993, Debra moved to California, where she worked as a dietician at a nursing home. On March 3, 1994, she married Pat Evans and two children, Alicia and Gareth, were born to their marriage. In 2008, Debra moved to Willmar.
Debra was an active member of the Evangelical Free Church. Her faith and her children were the priorities in her life and she cherished the time spent with her children.
She is survived by her children: Alicia and Gareth Evans of Willmar; two brothers: Gary (and Carol) Solbrack of Willmar and Brian (and Marcia) Solbrack of Blomkest; a sister; Carol (and Bruce) Brown of Willmar; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
