On the 19th of February, 1960 the Lord blessed Lawrence & Dianne (Anderson) Hill with baby daughter Debra Kim in Springfield, MN. Debra was confirmed, in May of 1974, in the Christian faith at Faith Lutheran Church (CLC) in Sanborn MN. Debra started school in Seattle, WA. In 1969, she and her siblings moved back to Sanborn with their mother. In October of 1974, Deb was blessed with son Christopher. Deb graduated from Sanborn High School in 1978. She then worked at Valley View Manor in Lamberton. In 1981, the family moved to Montevideo, where Deb worked at Luther Haven Nursing Home for a number of years. On December 26, 1987, Debra married Joseph Peters at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. They lived in Boyd, Holloway and Clinton in the following years. Deb was the first female city clerk in Clinton during their time there. She and Joe also had a mail route from Clinton (4:00 p.m.) to Willmar (7:00 p.m.) then on to Mankato and back to Willmar (about 2:00 a.m.) and finally back to Clinton (by 7:00 a.m.). Deb drove this route herself for 3 years. When Deb and Joe divorced, she moved to Willmar where her most satisfying career move was at Plumbing and Heating of Willmar.
She is survived by her son, Christopher (wife Kate); grandsons, Preston and Beckham; her mother, Dianne Anderson Hill; siblings, Danna, Lisa, Brent and Michael Hill; step daughter-in-law, Angela; step granddaughters, Tiffany, and twins Keanna and Kalina. Survived also by Joe Peters with whom she remained friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Hill; maternal grandparents, Olaf and Mildred Anderson Wendt and step grandfather, Ernest Wendt.
The Lord blessed us with Debra. She blessed us over and over again with her smile and personality, and her tremendous love for us all. She enjoyed cooking for the family and loved loved loved playing Farkle. She was our "blonde" and the glue that held us together. With great sadness she will be missed by all.
