Delia Cano, age 68, of Willmar, died Wednesday afternoon, September 26,at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 1, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be 9 a.m.—11 a.m.. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Delia was born January 4, 1950, in San Benito, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Demetrio and Ignacia (Gonzalez) Lopez. In 1954, her family moved to the United States as migrant farmers and worked in many areas of the United States. On February 18, 1973, she married Guadelupe Cano. For the past 22 years, they have lived in Willmar and traveled to Texas to farm during the winter months.
Delia had a strong faith in God and enjoyed reading her Bible, listening to Christian music, and praying for her family. Her family would like to thank the nurses in the dialysis unit at Rice Memorial Hospital for their care and friendship over the past several years.
Delia is survived by her husband: Guadelupe Cano of Willmar, MN; two children: Alma Cano (and Daniel Gonzalez) of Willmar, MN and Guadelupe Cano of Othello, WA; seven grandchildren: Eli, Victoria, Viviana, Vianey, Mayrani, Gael, and Marely; three brothers: Adolfo (and Josefa)Lopez of Alliance, NE, Pedro Lopez of Wadena, MN, and Joe Luis Lopez of Palmview, TX; three sisters: Maria Lopez (and Manuel Montemayor) of Lavilla, TX, Sophia (and Daniel) Rubio of Weslaco, TX, and Alicia (and Saul) Martinez of Othello, WA; and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Andres Lopez and Diego Lopez; and a sister: Demetria Lopez.
