Delores M. Deike, age 80, a resident of Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home in Willmar, entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior on February 14, 2011.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 18, at the Assembly of God Church in Willmar. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the church and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Memorials are preferred to the Willmar Assembly of God Church.
Delores Marie Deike was born February 19, 1930, in Tracy, Minnesota, to Frank and Marie (Waita) Fujan. She graduated from Walnut Grove High School and attended vocational college in Mankato. On November 8, 1950, she married Henry Deike. Delores worked as a secretary at Nelson Implement in Walnut Grove and Deike Construction in Marshall. She was a sports enthusiast, being a high school cheerleader and supporter of the Minnesota Gophers, Vikings and Twins. She taught Sunday school of 36 years and served as president of the Marshall chapter of Christian Women and the Women's Ministries. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and raising her family.
She is survived by her husband, Henry; three sons, Ronald (and Ilse) Deike of Suffolk, VA, Donald (and Jeanne) Deike of Ripon, WI, and Daniel (and Jennifer) Deike of Pennock; and six daughters, Diane (and Randy) Sather of Willmar, Donna (and Mark) Lunsford of Naples, Italy, Denise (and Gale) Svennes of Brookings, SD, Renee (and Dale) Heimdal of Waconia, Colleen (and Daniel) Arvola of Virginia, and Lisa (and Kevin) Knutson of Kalamazoo, MI. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward (and Jolene) Fujan of Rochester and Francis Dean (and Linda) Fujan of Sartell; a sister, Sister Marie Fujan of New Hope; a sister-in-law, Teddy Fujan of Las Vegas, NV; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Henry Deike; and a brother, Eugene Fujan.
