Delores Mohs

Delores Mohs, age 77, of New London, died Tuesday evening, July 29, at Glen Oaks Care Center in New London.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 3, at Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Saturday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Delores Maxine Mohs was born March 28, 1931, in Sunburg, the daughter of Roy and Gilma (Sanders) Aasgard. She grew up in the Sunburg area and graduated from Brooten High School in 1947 at the age of sixteen. She attended Luther College and graduated with a degree in education. She taught school briefly in Cokato. In December 1953, she married Donald Mohs on her family's farm in Sunburg. They lived in Litchfield and later moved to Willmar. Donald passed away in August 1977. Delores moved to Minneapolis in 1980. She worked as a customer service representative for 25 years at Northwestern Bell in Willmar and Minneapolis and for 10 years at the Star Tribune in Minneapolis. In 2006, she moved to Glen Oaks in New London. She was a former member of Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar and a current member of Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. She was also active with the Sons of Norway. She enjoyed reading, watching sports and spoiling her grandchildren. She was also a wonderful cook and baker and will be remembered for her delicious deserts.

She is survived by five sons, Daniel of Minneapolis, David of Kandiyohi, Paul (and Lisa) of Andover, Timothy (and Tammy) of Bettendorf, Iowa and Jonathan (and Nancy) of Lakeville; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Carole Guttman and Harriet Brundage, both of California; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald.
