Delores Maxine Olson, 83, of Sunburg, formerly of Brooten, died Friday, October 21, at Miriam Manor Assisted Living in Sunburg.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, at East Norway Lake Lutheran Church in rural New London. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, October, 24, at Peterson Brothers Sunburg Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Miriam Manor Assisted Living in Sunburg.
Delores was born February 17, 1928, in Kerkhoven Township, Swift County, Minnesota, to Herman and Alma (Hagen) Lansverk. She was baptized on March 11, 1928 and confirmed on December 7, 1941 at Spring Creek Lutheran Church in rural Murdock. She attended District 66 school near Murdock and graduated from Kerkhoven High School in 1945. On December 28, 1951, she married LeeRoy J. Olson at the Spring Creek Lutheran Church. They lived and farmed in the Sunburg area and later lived in Brooten. Delores most recently lived at Miriam Manor Assisted Living in Sunburg.
Delores worked at the Glacial Trail Supper Club in Sunburg and also as a housekeeper for several families in the area. She enjoyed attending sporting events, watching the Minnesota Twins and staying informed with the news and current events. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons: Rick (and Cathy) Olson of Brooten and Brad (and Wendy) Olson of Isanti; a daughter: Linda Syverson of Sunburg; a son-in-law: Charles Syverson of Sunburg; five grandchildren: Jami (and Christy) Syverson, Kelly (and Al) Rooney, Lacey (and Jared) Scheierl, Dustin (and Maria) Olson and Meghan (and Alex) Olson; five great-grandchildren: Madison, Jayden, Kellan, Aren and Audrey; a brother: Oral (and Doris) Lansverk of Benson; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: LeeRoy in 2003.
