Dennis Ahl

Dennis L. "Red" Ahl, age 83, of Willmar, died Tuesday, December. 27, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. www.petersonbrothers.com

Dennis Lee "Red" Ahl was born on July 17, 1933, in Bird Island, Minnesota, the son of Ruth Ahl. He grew up and received his education in the Bird Island community. From 1954 to 1956, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. Red was employed at various auto body shops in the Willmar area as a repair technician and was later self-employed. He was a member of the Willmar V.F.W. and American Legion Posts. Red enjoyed bowling, hunting and stock car racing.

He is survived by a special friend, Marilyn Eliason of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a half brother, Melvin Lien.
