Deone Johnson

Deone E. Johnson, age 57, of Willmar, died unexpectedly, Tuesday evening, July 21, at Rice Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 27, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. Interment will be at 3:30 P.M. on Monday, July 27, at the Ideal Cemetery in Huron, South Dakota. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Sunday, July 26, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Deone Eugene Johnson was born November 30, 1951, in Huron, South Dakota, the son of Gordon and Audrey (Jones) Johnson. He grew up and received his education in Huron and attended Huron High School. He was employed by the City of Huron Garbage Service Department. In 1970, he moved to Minnesota. He was employed by Hanson Silo Company for several years and worked at Jennie-O since 1988. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Willmar. He enjoyed being with family and friends, fishing and watching football, especially the Vikings.

Deone is survived by a brother: Roger (and Dorothy) Johnson of Cokato, Minnesota; four sisters: Wyonna Blanchard of Solomon, Kansas, Yvonne Fann of Willis, Texas, Cheyanne (and Frank) Siedschlag of Gettysburg, South Dakota, and Cindy Layton of Lakeside, California; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Gordon Johnson.
