Dominga Garcia, age 70, of Willmar died Tuesday morning, March 25, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, at the United Methodist Church in Willmar. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 28, at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. www.petersonbrothers.com
Dominga Garcia was born on August 1, 1943, in Robstown, Texas, the daughter of Blas and Isabel (Garcia) Gomez. She grew up and received her education in Crystal City, Texas. In 1958, Dominga was united in marriage to Rev. Ramon Garcia. They made their home in Crystal City where she worked as a homemaker raising her siblings and children and was the wife of an Apostolic Minister. In 1989, they moved to Minnesota and settled in the Willmar community.
Dominga was an amazing woman that was always helping others in need. She had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior. She cherished being with family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by five sons, Manuel (and Ida) Garcia of Mathis, TX., Humberto (and Mary Ellen) Garcia of San Antonio, TX., Abel (and Rachel) Garcia of Mathis, TX., Jesse (and Jessica) Garcia of Willmar and Eric (and Maria) Garcia of Willmar; four daughters, Guadalupe Rodriguez of Willmar, Isabel (and Joe) Munguia of San Antonio, TX., Victoria (and Guadalupe) Navarro of Willmar and Veronica (and Miguel) Arista of Willmar; twenty seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Domingo Diaz of Omaha, NE., Asencion (and Magdelena) Moreno of Arden Hills and Armando (and Angelena) Martinez of St. James and three sisters, Maria Irlas of Willmar, Virginia (and Edwardo) Perez of San Marcos, TX. and Paula Martinez of Crystal City, TX., besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ramon in 2005; one son, Ramon Jr. and two brothers, Ventura and Antonio Diaz.
