Donald E. Bugbee, age 84, of Willmar, passed away Wednesday, December 21, at Vista Prairie at Copperleaf in Willmar.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 26, at the Harbor Four Square Church in Spicer. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Big Grove Lutheran Cemetery near Brooten. Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Donald Edward Bugbee was born on July 28, 1938, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Lyle and Alice (Henjum) Bugbee. He grew up and received his education in Elbow Lake. He later attended bible school in Alberta, Canada and earned his Minister certification. Donald was a licensed Lay Minister through the Harbor Four Square Gospel Church. On June 12, 1976, he was married to Shirley Ann Solseth. They made their home in Minneapolis and moved to Willmar in 1980. Donald was always active in his church and ministry programs.
He enjoyed leading bible fellowship studies in area homes and playing piano and singing. He was also an avid Minnesota sports fan of the Twins and Vikings.
He is survived by two siblings, Larry Bugbee (Brenda) of St. Cloud and Janet (Bricker) Johnsen of Underwood; five nieces and nephews, Matt (Joanna) Bugbee, Breck (Aaron) Grove, Dr. Sam (Sara) Bugbee, Lindsey (Dave) Johnson and Kyle (Erin) Johnsen; nine great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Wanda and Carey Schlecht of Willmar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley in 2021; and a sister-in-law, Diane.
