Donald Lee Clancy, age 73, of Willmar, died Wednesday morning, May 27, at the Willmar Commons Care Center. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:45 A.M. on Friday, May 29, at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. There is no reviewal or visitation. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.
Donald was born on August 11, 1935, in Olivia, Minnesota, the son of Elmer and Marion (Swenson) Clancy. He grew up and received his education in the Olivia community. In 1953, Donald enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served during in the Korean War and Viet Nam War, retiring from the U.S. Air Force as Technical Sergeant in 1973. He lived in California and in 1999, moved to Willmar. Donald was employed as a custodian by the Willmar School District for several years and recently retired due to his ill health.
He is survived by one brother, Ronald (and Kay) Clancy of Willmar; several nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Steven Clancy in 2005.
