Donald Williamson

Donald Edward Williamson, age 80, of Willmar, died Friday morning, April 23, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, April 26, at the Church of the Nazarene, (12th Street & Trott Ave. SW). Inurnment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Sunday, April 25, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.

Donald was born on April 22, 1930, near Sherburne, Minnesota, the son of Lester and Esther (Finke) Williamson. At a young age, Donald's family moved to Illinois. He grew up and received his education in rural Ellisville, Illinois and was later employed as a mechanic at Ash Motor Company and was also engaged in farming. On June 12, 1953, in Ellisville, IL., Donald was united in marriage to Patricia Van Tine. In 1967, they moved to Kandiyohi. Donald continued farming and was employed at Nelson International. He later owned and operated D & D Auto Repair. In 1980, he began employment at the Willmar Regional Treatment Center as a stationary steam engineer, retiring in 1995.

Donald was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and served as a board member and Sunday school chairman.

Donald and Pat enjoyed many years of retirement together, especially spending their winters in Texas. They are blessed to have many friends in Minnesota and Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Willmar; two children, Donald (and Carol) Williamson of Willmar and Pamela (and Steve) Bohnhoff of Dieterich, IL; and four grandchildren, Chad (and Jeanne) Ediger of Ward, AR., Taylor Williamson of Willmar, Brittany Bohnhoff of Dieterich, IL., and Cory Williamson of Willmar. Also surviving is one brother, Richard Williamson of Bushnell, IL and one sister, Marie (and Marshall) Shumaker of Canton, IL., besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
