Donald Witte

Donald David Witte, age 60, of Atwater, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, June 26, at Rice Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 30, at St. John Lutheran Church in Atwater with Rev. Robert Westad officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. on Friday, June 29, at the church and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Arrangements are with the Atwater Funeral Home.

Donald was born on February 28, 1947, in Litchfield, Minnesota, the son of Arnold E. and Irma M. (Yungk) Witte. He grew up in the Atwater community, was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, graduated from Atwater High School in 1965 and became engaged in farming. On September 23, 1972, in Hutchinson, Donald was united in marriage to Pamela D. Bartels. They made their home on the family dairy farm north of Atwater where Donald has worked his entire life. He was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church where he was currently serving as vice-president of the church council. Donald enjoyed hunting, boating with his family on Diamond Lake, riding motorcycle and snowmobiling.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela of Atwater and two daughters, Jennifer Witte (and special friend, Josh Norine) of Minneapolis and Janell (and Mike) Larson of Farmington, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
