Doris Pearl Kamstra was born on August 25, 1962, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Milton and Phyllis (Wig) Kamstra. She grew up north of Willmar on Eagle Lake, graduated from Willmar High School in 1980 and from Moorhead State University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Doris was most recently employed at Sons of Norway in Minneapolis, as the Membership Manager, and was also a long time Sons of Norway member.
Doris loved flower and vegetable gardening, making jams and jellies, and sharing her goodies with family and friends. Other hobbies included jigsaw puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, baking, crafts, sewing, and fishing with her brother Duane. She read voraciously on a wide variety of subjects. She enjoyed traveling with friends and family, visiting Italy, Iceland and Norway, and had plans to visit Alaska this summer.
The secret to a well-balanced life is a cup of tea in one hand and a book in the other.
Doris is survived by her three siblings, Linda (and Roy) Duering of Willmar, Lois Ann Larsen of Denver, NC., and Duane (and Melissa) Kamstra of Willmar; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, many good friends, and her fur family, Ella, Lola and Mr. Beans.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Phyllis Kamstra and two brothers-in-law, Scott Larsen and Lenny Barron.
To love is to place our happiness in the happiness of another.
