Dorothie Marie Teichert, age 86, of Willmar, died Thursday morning, Feb. 1, at Rice Memorial Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 8, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Dorothie Marie Teichert was born December 15, 1920, in Willmar, the daughter of Philip and Pearl (Grable) Gillin. She grew up and attended school in Willmar, graduating from Willmar High School in 1938. On May 3, 1938, she married Robert F. Teichert and they made their home in Willmar. Dorothie received nurses training and worked as an LPN at the Willmar State Hospital for many years, retiring in the mid-1980s. In November 2006, she moved to the Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar. She was a member of the Church of St. Mary and the Ostomy Group. She enjoyed crafts, needlepoint and crochet. She will be remembered as a fantastic cook and baker and for her great sense of humor.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Janice Teichert of Woodbury; three grandchildren, Paul (and Barbara) Teichert of Carver, Tony (and Laura) Teichert of Eagan and Stephanie (and Gavin) Duffy of Apple Valley; six grandchildren, Casey and Austen Teichert of Carver, Zachary and Amanda Teichert of Eagan and Dayton and Brenna Duffy of Apple Valley; two nieces, Jurrie Brandenburg of Willmar and Jennifer (and Chuck) Boone of Staunton, Virginia; her sister-in-law, Margaret Teichert of Willmar and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert in 1995; her son, Robert in 2006 and three brothers.
